"Jack?" Steven asks, in a quiet, serious tone of voice as he looks up from the screen of his pokegear. "Just why did everyone on Pandora have to die?"
This has been... god, it's been a hell of an evening. He'd been looking forward to doing a fun group activity with his boyfriend, some other friends and a friendly stranger (or two)--to finally get to tabletop again, goddamn it--and everything had gone to hell.
But god, was it that unreasonable for him to assume that he didn't have to announce Jack's possible presence every single goddamn time he did anything?

Their routine's different now that Steven has a position in the newsroom--if nothing else, he has longer hours and a later shift. But it is shifting into a routine now, even if he's only been there for a week.
Steven lets himself in the door and sets his briefcase down near the hall table. Hangs up his coat. Goes to find Jack and greets him with a fond kiss to his cheek.

True to her word, Handler arrived at the castle at 6 pm sharp. She'd dressed in a new dress for the occasion. The bustle hid her Arachne lower body and four legs. Pink wasn't usually her color, but she was branching out. She wore a hat that was a few shades darker, tipped over one eye. A mesh veil hung over her face, though it did little to hide her eyes as she looked over the facade of the castle. It truly was impressive.
Not one to dawdle, she strode up to the door and knocked, patiently waiting for her host to answer.

One of the various 'parlor' rooms scattered throughout the castle has been set up, one with giant glass double doors that lead to a balcony and am impressive view of the sea beneath the cliffs Castle Handsome rests on.
The castle's massive double doors are opened by a well groomed human in black and gold livery, who bows respectfully and leads Handler through the entryway and up an imposing set of stairs to the parlor where Jack is waiting - already seated in a wing backed leather chair. There's a fire crackling away.
